Transient Response of Vibrating Systems

Although systems without damping are an idealization that cannot be physically realized, a lot of insight about the behavior of a wide variety of systems can be gleaned by studying such idealizations.  However, the methods used to study such systems are fairly different from those studied here (there is some overlap with zero-input state space analysis).  For both of these reasons these systems are discussed elsewhere as a topic unto themselves.
